Even with traditional brick and mortar business there is rarely the kind of help you get in a network marketing company.  There are merchant associations but nothing like MLM.  When your up-line says you are in business for yourself, but not by yourself, it’s really true. Up-lines, cross-lines and even down-line people will offer help, encouragement and a positive attitude as you grow.

Being around other positive people who are making things happen is my favorite part. I do not find that on my job, in the news or the world in general. Rallies and meetings are an escape from the doom and gloom of most people’s ordinary lives. It’s hard to be a victim when you’re out meeting, prospecting, selling!

As an old school network marketer this is how I’ve been brought up in the business.  It works for me and many others who have done really well.  But times are changing and the internet is here to stay. More people will read this article this month than I could possibly talk to (that I haven’t already) about my MLM opportunity.  So, why not use the internet in conjunction with the basic techniques?

When people who are already interested find you, it makes you a much more effective marketer.  Your posture is different. You can actually qualify people to work with you. It’s usually very positive when someone calls you.

Remember when you were told that in your own business you can decide who to work with? Well I could never reconcile that with pitching everyone in a three foot radius but I did it anyway because I wanted to follow the advice of those who had come before me. I presented to everyone from Uncle Leroy to the cashier waiting for a price check knowing that I probably wouldn’t want to work with either of them.

Now things are different. Using techniques in Magnetic Sponsoring you can branch out from the small world you live in to reach more interested (and interesting) people. Your sphere of influence can be exponentially increased.

But don’t forget that, first and foremost, network marketing is all about your team.

If you have ever told a friend about a really good book you’ve just read, or a great health product or wonderful service, and they have bought it on your recommendation, you are engaging in networking. Why not use this very simple idea to help you on your way to financial freedom?

The next time you find a product you love, why not find out if the company has an affiliate program which would allow you to earn commission from your recommendations? When you already already like a product, it is easy to speak about it with genuine enthusiasm, and if your friends go ahead and buy it, you will make a bit of money.

This works well for all parties. The company gets another sale, your friend gets a great product and you get paid. Furthermore, if they like the product enough they have the opportunity to join the affiliate program in your own downline so that you both get paid for commission for any sales they make.

Network marketing is becoming a popular way for companies to sell their products. And it’s not only products, but also services such as personal development programs and training resources that can be sold in this way, and enable you and your downline to learn and grow as well as earn money.

Other training programs, such as Mindtools, also offer affiliate programs, as do large, well known companies such as Amazon and Ancestry.

Courses and programs like this can be promoted both online and offline, with affiliates usually choosing one over the other, depending on which form of marketing they feel most comfortable with.

With a little bit of imagination, you can find all kinds of ways to promote these services. Furthermore, if you already work in personal development or the training industry, there is no reason why you could not adapt some of Success University’s courses and promote the company at the same time. There is no end to the ways you could promote such a service, as long as you remain enthusiastic about the service yourself.

The main ingredient of being building a successful networking business is enthusiasm. That is why it is important that you find a product or service that you like first before you sign up and begin promoting it. Many people make the mistake of trying to promote a product that they do not even use themselves, and this will seriously limit their ability to sell.

If you are serious about finding your way to financial freedom through network marketing, you could position yourself in a niche area that fits your lifestyle and interests, and build a business selling and promote products and services within this area. Personal development is one such area, but others are health, travel, pets, books and many more. Just take your pick!

There is a certain positive spirit and encouragement that can keep you moving when things are not going well.  Potential sponsors will always tell you that “You’re in business for yourself, but not by yourself”.  This is so true. At a minimum you can meet and talk to a lot of positive, like-minded people trying to achieve something special.  And, there are people at the level you aspire to.

There is so much negativity in the world – sometimes you need to work to keep from being pulled under by it.  Going to meetings or conference calls keep you inspired. Listening to success stories and telling yours reminds you that it is possible.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:1

“Faith is not feelings,” a pastor of mine used to say.  Over the years, I’ve discovered the truth of that statement.

Now, what he did not mean was that feelings had no place in faith.  Without feelings, our faith would be pretty boring or maybe nonexistent,

When I don’t “feel” faith, when no spiritual “high” fills my soul, I may still be faithful.  While I’m at that spiritual plateau, God may be building my “hoped for” quotient.  I’m not seeing exciting evidences of faith, but because I still trust in God, He is quietly increasing my faith each day.

You can relate to this to your work.  Every day isn’t a thrill, but that doesn’t mean that every day isn’t important to your work.  The exciting days keep you going, and you look forward to them, but if you have too many exciting days in a row, you may just wish for a quiet one to catch up on the chores you haven’t gotten to.

On those less-than-exciting days keep hoping and working for God.   The job isn’t finished yet.

Thank You, Lord, that even on unexciting days, You are faithful still.  Help me hold on to the evidence of things I haven’t seen while I trust in You.
